Welcome to Cassiltoun Housing Association

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website which will provide you with up to date information about the Association, regeneration, community events, future initiatives and housing development plans from 2019 onwards.

We intend to support our tenants by putting out welfare reform mitigation plans in place to control the risk that Universal Credit may bring.

If you are a tenant of Cassiltoun Housing Association and worried about the changes being introduced by welfare reform, contact our office and arrange to speak to a member of staff who will be happy to help.

2019/20 will see the Association complete our ambitious new build housing development programme at the 3 sites known as “Barlia 3”.  We aim to complete 42 new build houses and flats by December 2019 at a cost of just over £5m.  Please refer to our download section for more detailed information on this site and the other sites identified in our development plan.

The Association completed our fifth Tenants Charter Return in May 2018.  The Scottish Housing Regulator issued Cassiltoun Housing Association's Landlord Report on the 31st August 2018.  As we anticipated, the report demonstrates a strong performance when compared to the Scottish average performance, based on the previous four years performance and by the continuous improvements being made.  The Association's rent levels benchmark very well and remain comparable with many local and neighbouring housing associations.  For more information visit the Scottish Housing Regulator website at or to view the report visit our download section.

Furthermore, the Association issued our fifth "Tenants Report Card" to all our tenants and service users at the end of October.  The Report card provides performance information agreed by the Tenants Charter Scrutiny Panel.  Visit our Download Section to read the 2018 report.  The Association can report that the Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) advised us that our level of engagement will be medium in 2018/19.  The Regulation Plan outlined the reasons for medium engagement - "Following a break from development, Cassiltoun plans to start developing new homes for social rent and will receive significant public subsidy to help achieve this.  Cassiltoun is progressing its financial plans to support its development programme and ongoing investment in existing properties and we will engage with it about the impact of its plans.  During 2017/18 we reviewed Cassiltoun's financial returns and we will engage with it to gain assurance about its current and projected financial performance, processes and procedures".  In December 2018 the SHR advised the Association that after receiving substantial business planning assurance our engagement status was moved to low.  We are delighted to have provided the SHR with strong evidence of our approach to business planning, risk, governance and development planning.

We anticipate completing the investment on fabric works of our stock in Hoddam and Ballantay by April 2019 at a cost of £360,000.

From 2019/20 to 2023/24 a further £5.4m will be invested in our stock.

To determine our future investment the Association completed a stock condition survey in 2016/17.  The purpose of this survey which was carried out by external consultants is to plan the future major repair items in our housing stock.  We plan to update our Asset Management Plan in 2018/19 to include our revised findings.

We will publish the updated stock condition survey in this website.  Looking ahead over the next 5 years, we plan to invest £5.4m in our stock at Barlia Grove, 89-99 Barlia Drive, Barlia Gardens, Croftfoot Terrace, Machrie Road and Street (2019/20).  85-109 Castlemilk Drive, 7-11 Barlia Drive, Ballantay, Hoddam Terrace (2020/21), 5 Apts Castlemilk Drive area, Croftfoot Terrace and Drive and Tormusk (2021/22).  113-137 Barlia Drive and Tormusk (2022/23).  Cavin area, Castlemilk Drive and Barlia Drive (2023/24).

Further updates will be published in our future newsletters.

We are a Regeneration Organisation with a wealth of experience operating locally in Castlemilk that does more than housing demonstrated via our social enterprise subsidiary businesses. The information available on our website should demonstrate our diversity. However, if you would like to discuss our work, please do not hesitate to contact us.
