Successful £14, 672 Cycling Scotland Fund in partnership with Castlemilk Youth Complex!
We are delighted that our funding bid to reduce barriers to cycling in the area has been successful. Shaped by the survey responses of 73 individuals representing 150 people, we applied to:
- complete path maintenance in the woodland including adding edging and a ramp to where there are stairs, making Castlemilk Park a more cycle friendly place
- upgrade CYC Cycle Wise Hub to include electricity, water and more resources to increase their capacity for local hire, bike repair and skill development
- design and install new signage linking Castlemilk Park to the Cycle Wise Hub, in partnership with local young people
- upskill staff and volunteers on a range of bike maintenance skills to make the project more sustainable
The results of the survey can be found here and you can keep up to date with what's happening with the project on our social media pages:
Huge thanks to all who took part in the survey, to our partners Castlemilk Youth Complex, to the young people that will be involved in this project and, of course, to Cycle Scotland for the opportunity to move forward with local cycle aspirations.
